Theft Under $5000

On April 23rd a 22-year-old female was arrested for theft under $5000. On April 21st staff from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue reported a female had stolen a pregnancy kit and a sex toy valued at $72. The accused was identified via video surveillance and released for court on June 27th, 2024.

On April 23rd Police arrested a 39-year-old female for theft under $5000. On April 7th the female had stolen $100 worth of cosmetics from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. She was identified via video surveillance. She was released for court on July 4th, 2024.

On April 23rd at 2:53 pm Police received a call of a male passed out on the median in the 1700 block of Kirkcaldy Drive. A 25-year-old male was arrested as he was wanted for a theft from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. The accused had stolen $100 worth of meat on April 17th, 2024. He was identified via video surveillance. He was held for court on April 24th, 2024.

Vehicle Theft

On April 23rd at 09:55 am an employee from a business in the 1500 block of Richmond Avenue reported a 2021 Black Jeep Grand Cherokee was taken from the lot sometime on April 21st. The vehicle was later located in a business parking lot in the 100 block of Victoria Avenue East.

Assault

On April 23rd police attended Brandon Correctional Center and arrested a 29-year-old male, a 25-year-old male, a 19-year-old male and a 26-year-old male for assault. On March 25th, 2024, staff at Brandon Correctional Center found a 26-year-old male who was the victim of an attack. Investigation revealed the four accused played a part in assaulting the victim. They will appear in court on April 24th, 2024.

Suspicious fire

On April 23rd ,2024 at 8:10 pm Police received a call from a residence in the 1600 block of Sycamore Drive reporting they had witnessed a male light a tire on fire around the 2000 block of Lyndale Drive. No serious injuries or damage was reported. The matter is still under investigation.

Breach of Peace

On April 23rd at 9:05 pm a male stormed into Brandon Police Service under the influence. He demanded he be locked up before he hurts someone. A 36-year-old male was arrested and will be released in the morning.

Grass Fire

On April 23rd at 8:51 pm Police were called to grass fire around the 300 block of 14th street north, across the river form the Riverbank Discovery Center. The cause of the fire is undetermined currently. Brandon Fire dept extinguished the blaze and there were no reports of any injuries or property damage.

Sexual Assault

On April 23rd A 28-year-old male was arrested for sexual assault. In December of 2022 a 26-year-old female reported she was the victim of a sexual assault. The accused had left the province but was recently arrested once he returned to Manitoba. He was held for court on April 24th, 2024.

Intoxicated Person

On April 24 at 00:01 am Police received call to the Westbrook Bay area for an intoxicated female banging on doors. A 20-year-old female was arrested and will be released in the morning.

Arrest Warrant

On April 24th at 05:13 am Police attempted to conduct a pedestrian check with a male in the 1600 block of Louise Avenue. The male fled on foot but was apprehended a short distance later. A 27-year-old male was arrested for breaching his curfew and he was also found to have an outstanding warrant for breaching his release order. He was held for court on April 24th, 2024.
