The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have welcomed back defensive back Jonathan Hefney. Hefney, who was the Canadian Football League's East Division finalist for Most Outstanding Rookie in 2009, was released by the National Football League's Detroit Lions. Hefney started every game in his rookie season at halfback and made 66 tackles, four interceptions and five special teams tackles on his way to being named a CFL All-Star. Hefney signed with Detroit in the offseason and was added to the team's practice roster following training camp where he spent the first two weeks of the NFL season. The Blue Bombers will face the British Columbia Lions in Vancouver on Saturday.
