A high percentage of city workers in Brandon are fully vaccinated.

With a workforce of just over 600 employees, the City of Brandon is reporting that 99% of its employees have voluntarily disclosed their vaccination status. As of November 23rd, 2021, 92% have identified as being fully vaccinated.

On November 1st, 2021, the City implemented a mandatory vaccination or testing policy for employees who have direct and ongoing or prolonged contact with vulnerable populations. There are currently fewer than 20 employees completing regular COVID-19 testing, producing a negative result every 48hrs prior to entering the workplace.

The City of Brandon Mayor and Council announced in October that every elected official was fully vaccinated.

As of November 23rd, Brandon’s vaccine uptake was 86.3%.

“I am not surprised that most of our staff have been vaccinated,” notes City Manager Ron Bowles. “Keeping the public safe, as well as our fellow employees, has been a top priority across our organization.”
