The following is the RCMP report to April 18, 2024.  This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.

- 16 traffic violations

- 20 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)

- 16 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)

- 16 crimes against property

- 8 other criminal code

- 2 crimes against persons

- 1 Traffic accidents

- 1 impaired driving investigation

 

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Just a reminder that RCMP DO NOT do child abuse and adult abuse registry checks.  RCMP is responsible for criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks.  You require a vulnerable sector check if you are in a position of trust. You must present to the detachment when applying for a vulnerable sector check. 

Position of Trust means a paid or voluntary position dealing with vulnerable people. Vulnerable people may include children, youth, the elderly, people with physical, developmental, emotional, social, or other disabilities, people who are addicted or dependent on addictive substances, and people who have been the victim of a crime or an accident.

Applicants who require a Vulnerable Sector Check from their organization must present themselves in person and provide written consent in order for the checks to be conducted.

Proper identification must be produced and recorded on the application: a government issued photo identification for the Primary Document, and a secondary document which verifies the Primary identification.

YOUTH CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS

Criminal record checks cannot be done on youth unless working in Government. It has been established that non-provincially or municipally run summer camps and pools, public/private schools including colleges/universities are not government employers.

 

April 4, 2024

Police responded to a 911 call of a patient reported missing from the Deloraine hospital during the night. The patient was not dressed for the weather and had not been discharged. Extensive patrols were made to locate the missing male. The male was located safe the next morning when he returned to Deloraine hospital.

Police responded to a 911 call under the Mental Health Act in Deloraine.

Police responded to a single vehicle collision in the RM of Deloraine-Winchester.

Police responded to a 911 call for uttering threats in the RM of Prairie Lakes. A male was arrested and remanded into custody.

Police received a report of theft in the RM of Killarney-Turtle Mountain. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

 

April 5, 2024

Police received a report of dangerous driving in the RM of Prairie Lakes. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report under the firearms act in Killarney. The matter is under investigation. 

Police received a report to assist general public on a situation in Boissevain. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of child pornography in Boissevain. Members followed up with the complainant and all parties involved and the matter was concluded.

 

April 6, 2024

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the RM of Deloraine-Winchester. The vehicle had left the property and police directed the complainant to call back if they returned.

Police received a report of disturbing the peace in Killarney. Police attended, however there was no disturbance upon arrival. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

 

April 7, 2024

Police responded to an alarm in Boissevain. Upon arrival, there was no disturbance and nothing suspicious at the business.

Police received a report of arson-damage to property in Deloraine. The matter is under investigation.

 

April 8, 2024

Police responded to an alarm at a business in Killarney. The business was open. When police arrived, they spoke with the employees and determined it was a false alarm.

Police received a report under the trespass act in Boissevain. A file was created, and the matter was concluded.

Police received a request to assist another organization in the RM of Prairie Lakes. Upon arrival, a male with an active warrant was located at the residence. The male was arrested and released on a release order to appear in court at a later date.

Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a call under the 911 act in Killarney. Police followed up with the caller and determined it was an accidental 911 call. Police were not required.

Police received a report of a moose that had been struck by a vehicle in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. Police attended and disposed of the moose.

 

April 9, 2024

Police received a report of a suspicious person in Killarney. The person was gone prior to police receiving the report.

Police received a report under the off-road vehicle act in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a break and enter in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of theft of vehicle in the RM of Argyle. The matter is under investigation.

Police received another report under the off-road act in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

 

April 10, 2024

Police responded to an alarm call in the RM of Killarney-Turtle Mountain. Upon arrival, police determined it was a false alarm.

Police received a report under the off-road act in Killarney. Police were able to locate the off-road vehicles involved with the complaint and the matter was concluded.

 

April 11, 2024

Police responded to a call for a burned vehicle on the side of the road in the RM of Killarney-Turtle Mountain. Upon further investigation it was determined the vehicle had been reported stolen. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of theft of gas in Pleasant Valley. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of a break and enter in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police responded to a 911 call under the customs act in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. Police patrolled the area however were unable to locate the reported vehicle.

Police received a report of a suspicious person and vehicle in Killarney. Police are familiar with the reported vehicle and continue to make patrols.

 

April 12, 2024

Police responded to a 911 call under the customs act in Lena. Police followed up with the customs port and the matter was concluded.

Police responded to a report of uttering threats in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of a break and enter in the RM of Argyle. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report under the off-road vehicle act in Deloraine. The matter was concluded.

Police received a report of a suspicious person in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

 

April 13, 2024

Police responded to a 911 call under the customs act in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. Patrols were made; however, the suspects were gone upon arrival.

Police received a report of uttering threats in the RM of Argyle. Police followed up with the complainants and it was determined there were no threats made. The matter was unfounded.

Police received a report of a suspicious person/vehicle in Killarney. Members attended, and the matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in Killarney. The matter was already being investigated from a previous report.

Police received a report under the family law act in Ninette. Members followed up with the complainant and the matter was concluded.

Police responded to a 911 call for disturbing the peace in Cartwright. Police attended and spoke to all parties involved. Police also discovered a male at the residence with an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and lodged in cells then released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date. 

Police received a report of a tractor on fire in the RM of Prairie Lakes. Fire was dispatched and the matter was concluded.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in Killarney. Police were familiar with the vehicle, and the vehicle was towed.

 

April 14, 2024

Police received a report of a break and enter in the RM of Grasslands. Police attended and followed up with the complainant. The matter is under investigation.

Police responded to a call under the 911 act in Boissevain. Upon arrival, police determined they had been called by mistake. The matter was concluded.

Police received a report of mischief in Boissevain. Police followed up with the complainant and the matter is under investigation.

 

April 15, 2024

Police responded to a wellbeing check in Dunrea. Everyone was located safe.

Police received a request for a wellbeing check in Deloraine. Before members could respond, the complainant phoned back and had received a phone call from the person in question. The file was concluded.

Police received a report of a possible fraud that may be occurring in the RM of Argyle. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report under the family law act in Boissevain. Members followed up with the complainant and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report under the off-road act in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a break and enter in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of theft in Hartney. Police followed up with the complainant and it was determined it was not a police matter. 

 

April 16, 2024

Police responded to a 911 call for a fire in the RM of Killarney-Turtle Mountain. Upon arrival, police determined there was no property damage and the fire was not criminal in nature.

Police received a report under the provincial wildlife act. Members completed patrols and located the animals in question, and it was determined they were not in any danger. The matter was concluded.

Police responded to a call under the 911 act for a 911 hang up call in Ninette. Upon arrival, it was determined police were not needed and the caller was having issues with their phone.

 

April 17, 2024

Police received a call under the 911 act for another 911 hang up call in Ninette. Police followed up with the caller via phone call, as it was the same location as the previous hang up call and determined police were not required.

Police received a report of an operation while impaired in Waskada. The matter is under investigation.
