Manitoba began providing COVID-19 vaccines today to the five to 11-year-old age group.

Dr. Joss Reimer with our province's Vaccine Implementation Task Force says they began taking bookings Monday morning. As of today at 12:30 pm, there were 23,310 appointments already booked.

There are approximately 125,000 children in this age group that are eligible to be vaccinated in Manitoba.

To be eligible, children must be five at the time the appointment is booked and appointments are only currently available at supersites.

Vaccine will be delivered to participating medical clinics and pharmacies between Thursday of this week and next week Monday.
