Registered Massage Therapist, Jamie Morrison, opened up a new therapy clinic in Boissevain a few months ago.  Morrison has been a RMT for 12 years and has just settled in the Boissevain area most recently, opening up her clinic on South Railway Street in mid-November.

"I'm trained in massage therapy but specialize in deep tissue massage and injury-based treatments," she explains, "and then I also do a lot of adhesion work, scar tissue work as well and I'm also trained in acupuncture."

Morrison hails from Teulon, MB and has served her customers in Winnipeg and Brandon.  After 7 years of practicing in Brandon, she decided to move out of the Wheat City and settle in the area of Max Lake, south of Deloraine.

Morrison says COVID has created its challenges but it's been a good transition to the southwest corner of the province.  She says, as well as following the safety health restrictions as per Manitoba Health, she locks her business doors while doing therapy with each client so there's no traffic in the waiting room.  "As long as you talk those things out with people they're very receptive and they come in.  I always respect people who want to wait until the pandemic is over and want to stay home until its safer to do so.  But, I've been quite fortunate that people have been coming in, and it's starting to get busier."

"I still have some clientele that come out from Brandon," she shares," so I send them all to the bakery next door!  So, they come and get a massage and then stop for donuts before going home!" laughs Morrison.

"Everyone has been very welcoming and it's been great," she adds.  "I'm very happy to be in a small town and I look forward to being out of this Code Red so that I can get to know the town a little bit better.  But, so far I'm loving it and I'm really enjoying it out in the country too."
