The owners and staff and Asessippi Ski Resort were thrilled to have received the prestigious Large Business of the Year Award at the 2nd Annual Tourism Awards hosted by Tourism Winnipeg and Travel Manitoba in mid-April.

The awards ceremony was held on April 17th in Winnipeg, celebrating excellence in the tourism industry, recognizing outstanding contributions from businesses, staff, events, and attractions across the province.

Assistant Manager, Shannon Johnston, says they were up against Churchill Wild, Assiniboine Park Conservatory and Fort Garry Hotel and Spa.

The ski resort is also celebrating a significant milestone this year - their 25th Anniversary! The ski hill opened in 1999 just before Christmas and has seen multiple changes and additions over the past 2 decades!

Please listen to more with Shannon Johnston below as she shares some of those changes!

The Large Business of the Year Award is presented to a tourism establishment with 20 or more employees that consistently delivers exceptional visitor experiences, resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction through the services or experiences provided.

"We are incredibly honoured to receive the Large Business of the Year award," remarked Daymon Guillas, Owner of Asessippi Ski Resort. "We are proud to contribute to the local economy and provide unforgettable experiences for our visitors. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the team."

"I also want to add that our staff is incredible," shares Johnston. "We have a really great core staff and returning staff, and we also hire overseas staff, locals and seasonal workers.  So, we had about 149 staff this year, and the leaders and the training we do with them really just shows how much everyone loves it here!  And it does show in our guest service and our guests see that and appreciate that."

The Asessippi management team expressed immense appreciation to all their staff for their hard work and dedication and to their valued visitors for choosing Asessippi Ski Resort for their recreational pursuits. Johnston says this award holds significant meaning for the resort, highlighting its ongoing efforts to provide exceptional service and experiences to all who visit.

"We're all very proud of what we have here and what we have to offer," adds Johnston.
