Manitoba Ag Days will be celebrating its 40th anniversary next month.

What started out as a one room "Weed Fair" in 1978, has now grown into Canada's Largest Indoor Farm Show.

General Manager Kristen Phillips expects January's show in Brandon to be the biggest and best yet.

"We actually have expanded our floor space, so we have an extra 19,200 square feet which has allowed us to welcome an additional 54 exhibitors into our show," she explained. "So we're now just over that 550 exhibitor mark. We would expect 45,000 to 50,000 people to come through the show in the three days."

Booths will also be set up on the Brandon Curling Club ice surface which will allow for an extra 102 booths in that room alone.

To help celebrate the 40th anniversary, organizers are planning to bring in 60 speakers who will discuss a wide variety of topics. Exhibitors are also being asked to showcase a piece of history as part of a nostalgia competition.

Popular events such as the Bull Congress, The Inventors Showcase and The New Products Competition will also return in 2017.

The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) will also be launching and unveiling their new Grain Entrapment/Suffocation Demo Trailer on January 17th.

Manitoba Ag Days takes place January 17-19, 2016 at the Keystone Centre in Brandon.
