The latest in farm equipment and technology is on display in Regina this week.

Canada's Farm Progress Show opens today at Regina's Evraz Place and features everything from the mainline manufacturers to the shortline dealers.

Show manager Shirley Janeczko says the show is always extremely popular adding that exhibit space for this year's show is sold out.

"We have the most exhibitors we've had ever. We have over 900 exhibitors. We have a couple of attractions. We have the Axe Women Of Maine performing at the Canada Centre. We have an innovation program again as well as a farm progress forum," she said.

Along with the equipment showcase there's also entertainment and the opportunity to take in the Farm Progress Forum.

"Were kicking off with Derek Rude he's the project manager for PAMI and he's going to be talking about maximizing your machinery for profit. Following him will be Robert Wagner, he's out of Vancouver and he's going to be talking about food safety is alive and well. And then Lynn Crawford, She's from the Food Network and she's a celebrity chef," Janeczko said.

Saskatchewan Agricultural Minister Lyle Stewart says it's a great show for producers, the industry, the Province as well as the City of Regina.

"Also as a provider of tools and equipment for the agricultural sector. We have a thriving agricultural manufacturing sector in the province and Farm Progress show is probably the primary way that we can showcase that," he said.

Stewart adds the Saskatchewan is being recognized around the world for its ability to feed the world.
