Foodgrains Bank Hoping To Capitalize on Success of Harvesting Hope Event

Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFGB) Regional Representative Harold Penner is describing this summer's Harvesting Hope fundraiser as an 'awesome event'.

It was revealed this week that the event held near Austin, has been certified as a Guinness World Record for the most antique threshing machines operating at the same time.

Penner said they have plans to work together again with the Manitoba Agricultural Museum near Austin.

"We're working right now on perhaps doing a growing project together on the museum land. We haven't gone beyond dreaming about it yet but we'll have to see how that works out."

CFGB hosted a fall banquet/information session in Rosenort on Tuesday night with about 115 people in attendance.

There were about 5,700 acres grown in support of CFGB this year in Manitoba.
