Keystone Agricultural Producers recently held its yearly meeting with Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation (MASC), discussing KAP resolutions on coverage for predation and an Individual Productivity Index (IPI) on silage corn.

The delegation also raised concern over the limited coverage available (85 per cent) on unharvested soybeans, corn and several other crops.

Discussion surrounded around what would happen to premiums if coverage was increased on these crops. MASC said it would be willing to talk about optional 100 per cent coverage.

MASC also reviewed program performance of the past year, including claims payouts relative to premiums. MASC had earlier indicated that premiums will go down because payouts have been low.

Lending programs were also reviewed at the meeting.
