Harvest in Manitoba is over 95 per cent complete, according to the final crop report of the season.

Edible beans and field pea harvest is completely done, while spring cereals are at 99 per cent, and canola is 98 per cent complete.

Crop yields in Manitoba are generally at or above the 10-year average, however some areas are reporting lower yields due to extreme summer weather, such as hail and thunderstorms, which may have also caused crop lodging.

"Even though yields were above our 10-year averages, there was probably some yield left out there in the field in terms of having that impact from the lodging that we did see," says Manitoba Agriculture's cereal specialist Pam de Rocquigny.

Quality for a majority of crop types is average, although cereal crops harvested later in the season saw a decrease in quality due to poorer weather conditions.

As harvest is winding down, fall field work including tillage and soil testing continues.
