Two Manitobans were among four recipients of the 2016 4-H Canada Leadership Excellence Awards of Distinction (L.E.A.D).

Eveline Juce of Hamiota and Jessica Mayers of Pierson-area were recognized for their outstanding achievements, receiving a $20,000 scholarship towards their post-secondary education and connection to a mentor in their field of study.

The 4-H Canada L.E.A.D awards are made possible with the support of Canadian National Railway.

“CN is proud to support 4-H Canada’s L.E.A.D. program,” said Sean Finn, Executive Vice-President CN Corporate Services and Chief Legal Officer. “Congratulations to this year’s recipients - your commitment to leadership and excellence is exemplary.”

Eveline will be paired up with two-time Canadian Olympic Biathlete Megan Imrie, while Jessica will partner with Dr. David Bailey, Ph.D. and President and CEO of Genome Alberta.

"We are thrilled to once again recognize four exceptional youth leaders who are passionate about making a difference in their clubs, their communities, their country and for the world,” said Shannon Benner, CEO of 4-H Canada. “CN is one of 4-H Canada’s oldest corporate partners and we are proud to be working with a company that shares our values of community service, life-long learning and the importance of empowering youth leaders for a strong and vibrant Canada."
