It's been a year of high winds, hard rain, and lots of hail -- and the season isn't over yet.

According to Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation (MASC), claims for hail damage have been above average this year, and with harvest ongoing, there is still potential for more.

"Earlier in the season in that Roseisle country, there was a pretty significant storm that did a lot of damage to a number of crops there," says David Van Deynze, manager of claims services for MASC. "In the western part of the province, there was a significant number of storms. It seemed to hail there every few of days."

A few weeks ago, a couple more hail storms passed through areas near Emerson and Boissevain. Van Deynze says in the Emerson area from that storm alone, they received about 200 claims.
