Manitoba pork producers are being advised to be on the lookout for symptoms of an illness that closely resembles Foot and Mouth Disease.

Senecavirus A has been confirmed in Ontario and US authorities have turned away at least eight truckloads of pigs which showed signs of the disease.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is testing all swine at federal processing plants that are symptomatic.

Pork producers are being urged to know the symptoms of Senecavirus A and to take extra biosecurity measures to prevent the disease.
