The Prairie Oat Growers Association (POGA) is holding its 18th annual conference Thursday in Moose Jaw, SK.

POGA president Art Enns says overall the oat acreage across the Prairies has been holding, adding we've seen some decent prices. He notes there’s some good interest in the oat industry.

"We've got our transportation going back to normal and we've been able to get our product to the mills in the U.S. and into Mexico," he says. "Is it ideal yet? No, but it's been a vast improvement, which has really helped our industry to be able to focus on where to grow and where to move to."

One of the conference speakers is Samantha Stephens, the owner of OatMeals, a restaurant in New York City that is dedicated to serving oats.
