Many crops are showing the effects of the severe weather experienced in Manitoba over the past week.

Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Development says the central region appears to have been the hardest hit with hail and strong winds significantly damaging many crops.

Roseisle and Miami were the most affected areas with hail ranging from golf ball to hard ball size.

Assessments will continue over the next several days.

Otherwise, crops are continuing to advance across the province thanks to overall good growing conditions.

Producers are also making good progress on applications of herbicide for weed control and fungicide for disease management.

Haying operations also continue.
