Seeding operations are just getting underway on the Prairies.

G3 Canada's weather and crop specialist Bruce Burnett says seeding in the parts of Alberta around Lethbridge are underway. He notes as the temperature warms up, seeding will become more widespread.

"This will happen in stages, we'll be in some fairly general planting progress in Western Canada by the last week of April. in extreme northern areas we're probably looking at a start up of the first week of May," he says.

He notes the lower temperatures at night and the risk of frost has delayed seeding activity in some areas of the Prairies.
