Assiniboine Community College is now accepting nominations for its annual alumni awards.

The awards will be presented at the college’s celebration events in Brandon and Dauphin in fall 2023.

“The Alumni Association’s board of directors always looks forward to this time of the year when we get to review the nominations that are submitted,” said Kevin Bailey, President of Assiniboine’s Alumni Association.

Individuals can nominate an Assiniboine alumnus for one of two categories.

1. Distinguished Alumni Award (up to two award recipients): Awarded to alumni of the college who have distinguished themselves in both their chosen professions and their communities.

2. One to Watch Award: Awarded to alumni of the college, 35 years of age or younger, who have demonstrated exceptional achievement and significant contribution to their professions or communities. There is also the Excellence in Education Award, which will be presented to a current staff or faculty member who has made an extraordinary contribution to teaching and the student experience.

Recipients of these awards are typically nominated by their peers, employers or family members who have witnessed the impact Assiniboine’s alumni have had in their communities and professions. “One of the most rewarding parts of my job is recognizing alumni for their outstanding achievements," said Lisa Huston, Alumni Relations Coordinator at Assiniboine.

“With more than 55,000 Assiniboine alumni throughout the province and across the country, it’s difficult to choose one recipient for each category. There are so many remarkable stories to be commended.”

The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 31, 2023.
