12 outstanding people will be inducted into the Order of Manitoba this year. To name a few...Canadian musician Tom Cochrane, Dan Johnson, the founding executive director of the Manitoba Special Olympics...Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews and Wilma Derksen, an advocate for victims of crime.

Our first introduction to Wilma, came through unfortunate circumstances, when in 1984 Wilma Derksen's 13-year-old daughter Candace was abducted and murdered in Winnipeg. Since then, Wilma has been sharing her story, her blessings, and her struggles with people around the Country, and right here in our Province.

Wilma is a gracious, humble, and well-deserving of this honor, and joined us this morning to share her thoughts on living in our Province...

Wilma Derksen -- 1 of 12 Manitobans who will receive our provinces highest honor -- the Order of Manitoba. An investiture ceremony will be held July 9 at the Manitoba legislature.
