We've been noticing some birds in parts of southern manitoba that normally don't hang around during the winter.
In some regions Robins have been spotted.
Birder Harv Lane explains why some robins are sticking around for the winter, when they usually head south.

Lane notes there are a few other birds that are over-wintering in Manitoba.
He notes Cardinals are showing up this winter, and Red Bellied Woodpeckers have also been spotted.
Lane thinks global warming may have something to do with these birds spending winters further north than they normally do.
