Update - Blue Hills RCMP respond to vehicle-pedestrian collision - November 9, 2023


Blue Hills RCMP have identified the victim in the November 2, 2023, vehicle-pedestrian collision as a 21-year-old male from Ochre River, Manitoba.

The investigation is ongoing.

Blue Hills RCMP respond to vehicle-pedestrian collision

 

On November 2, 2023, at 8:35 pm, officers from the Blue Hills RCMP (Brandon) responded to a report of a male walking in the middle of the driving lane on Highway 1, near Road 115 W, which is located approximately ten kilometres west of Brandon in the RM of Whitehead.
 
As the officers were responding to the area, an update was received that the male had been struck by a westbound semi-trailer.

Officers arrived on scene and located an unidentified male who was pronounced deceased on scene.

The driver of the semi, a 25-year-old male from Regina, was not physically injured.

Blue Hills RCMP are asking anyone who may have seen an individual walking on Highway 1 in this area, prior to the collision, to contact the Blue Hills RCMP at 204-726-7519

Blue Hills RCMP, along with an RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
