March 16th Report:

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On Thursday March 14, officers conducted a curfew check on a 16-year-old male who is subject to a daily curfew of 9 PM - 7 AM.  The male failed was not at his residence and failed to present himself at the door.  On Friday morning the male was located by officers and was arrested.  He will appear in court this morning [Saturday, March 16th].

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

At 10:35 AM police were called to a business in the 000 block of 10th St, for a female passed out in the lobby.  Officers attended and located the 18-year-old female who was highly intoxicated and unable to care for herself.  Further investigation revealed she is currently bound by an Undertaking with a condition that she not attend the business she was passed out inside.  As well, she is on a condition not to possess knives and was found in possession of two knives upon arrest.  She will be held for court later this morning.

Breach of Conditional Sentence / Possession of Cocaine for Trafficking

At approx. 1:45 PM Friday, officers were called to a business in the 1900 block of Queens Ave for a female refusing to leave.  Upon arrival the officers located the 41-year-old female who is currently on a 24-hour court ordered curfew.  The female was also in possession of alcohol and approx. 15 grams of cocaine as well as some cash.  Further investigation revealed that she is on conditions not to possess either alcohol or drugs.  The female was arrested for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime as well as three counts of breach of a conditional sentence order.  She will appear on court later today.

Possession of a Weapon Dangerous / Resist arrest

At approx. 6:20 PM police were called to the 200 block of 18th St N in Brandon for a male carrying a hatchet looking in dumpsters.  Officers attended and located the 36-year-old male as described.  Further investigation revealed the male was currently the subject of a warrant of arrest for failing to comply with his probation order.  The male resisted the officer’s attempts to arrest him but was eventually taken into custody.  He will appear in court this morning [Saturday] charged with possession of a weapon, resist arrest as well as the warrant charge of failing to comply with probation.

Break and Enter

At approx. 8 PM Friday, police received a call of a break enter and theft from a building site in the 400 block of 8th St.  The caller indicated that he is missing several power tools from the site.  The matter is still under investigation.

Domestic Assault

At approx. 11:15 PM Friday, officers were called to a residence in the 1000 block of 7th St. for a disturbance. A male had reportedly grabbed his wife by the throat and threatened to kill her.  The 61-year-old male was arrested for assault and uttering threats.  He has since been released with a court date of May 27.

Possession of a Weapon

At approx. 12:25 AM today, police were called to a business in the 3000 block of Victoria Ave.  The original caller indicated that they believed two males were outside the business “flashing a gun”.  Officers attended and located the two suspects.  The first, a 23-year-old male was found to be in possession of a can of bear spray.  He was arrested for possession a weapon and has since been released with a court date of June 12.  The second male, 20 years of age, was simply intoxicated and causing problems. He was arrested and will be held until sober at which time he will be released without charge.

Fail to Comply with a Release Order / Public Mischief

At approx. 6:20 AM officers checked a male in the 600 block of 13th St.  Initially the male provided a false name, however it was learned that the 43-year-old is currently the subject of a curfew which he was not following.  He was arrested for public mischief and for failing to comply with his release order.  He has since been released with a court date of June 10.

 

March 17th Report:

Break and Enter

At approx. 1:00 AM Saturday, police received a call of a break and enter to a residential suite in the 900 block of Rosser Ave.  At the time of report, it was unknown what if anything was stolen from the property.  The matter is still under investigation.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed

At approx. 12:20 PM Saturday, an officer observed a male known to him, in the 400 block of 9th St.  The 34-year-old male was wanted on an outstanding warrant of arrest for theft under $5000.  The male was arrested on the strength of the warrant and has since been released with a court date of April 15.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed

At approx. 3:30 PM Saturday, an officer observed a male known to him, in the 800 block of Pacific Ave.  The 23-year-old male was wanted on an outstanding warrant of arrest for failing to attend court.  The male was arrested on the strength of the warrant and has since been released with a court date of April 15.

 

Fail to Comply with an Undertaking

At approx. 4:05 PM Saturday officers were called to the 1000 block of 10th St for a 21-year-old female causing problems in a residence and refusing to leave.   The female was found to be the subject of an Undertaking with a condition not to attend the address and not to communicate with the male that resides there.  She was arrested for failing to comply with her Undertaking and has since been released from custody with an April 18th court date.
