Brandon University (BU) will celebrate International Women’s Day by recognizing 10 outstanding students today.

The students, who were nominated by faculty members, will be honoured in a virtual ceremony at 4 p.m., presented by the Status of Women’s Review Committee (SWRC) and Student Services at BU. Profiles of the students can be viewed at BrandonU.ca/womens-week. The ceremony can be viewed on ZOOM, with the meeting ID 952 0064 3461 and the passcode 107900.

“Every year it’s a thrill to see a new group of students brought forward for their amazing work in their studies and in the community,” said SWRC Chair Gretta Sayers. “Each student has their own unique background and story, but they all have made their mark with incredible contributions to BU. About the BU Status of Women Review Committee

The Status of Women Review Committee (SWRC) was established in 1988 and is a joint committee of the Brandon University Faculty Association and Brandon University. Among its work is an annual recognition of exceptional student leaders who are making outstanding contributions to our community and beyond. This recognition is held in conjunction with International Women’s Day a global day celebrating the economic, politics, and social achievements of women past, present, and future.
