Brandon University is set to receive a significant donation.

Mining company Vale will contribute to a research project aimed at

helping educate Northern Manitoba Youth

The President and Vice-Chancellor of Brandon University, Dr. Deborah C. Poff

will meet with Vale representatives in Thompson on Monday to accept

the company’s $400,000 donation.

The funds will be used to fund the Vital Outcomes Indicators for Community

Engagement for Children and Youth (VOICE) project led by Brandon University,

 in cooperation with the University College of the North.

Vale, the global mining company, has committed to a five-year contribution

 in the amount of $400,000 to a multi-partner research project led by

Brandon University. This project aims to develop capacity of teachers,

school divisions, educational authorities, government and others in a joint goal to help First Nations, Métis and Inuit youth be successful in education.
