For the second year in a row the province has extended the requirement for permits to burn crop residue.

Due to the unusually late fall, permits are now required to burn until December 3rd.

Under the permit program, authorization is required for daytime burning. Permits are issued for certain hours and in certain areas based on weather, moisture and smoke dispersion conditions. Night burning is banned year-round.

Burning permit application forms are available online or by calling 1-800-265-1233.
