Families wanting to enroll their children or youth into summer Bible camp have a number of options still available to them. Camp Koinonia is just one of the Province's favorite summer camps that share the Good News of the Gospel, as well as exciting opportunities for adventure in the beautiful outdoors of Manitoba!

Camp Koinonia is a year-round retreat centre on the shores of Lake Max in the Turtle Mountain Provincial Park and is owned and operated by Camps with Meaning.

Associate Program Director, Janet Peters, says applications are coming in for their summer programs, however they still have room for all ages (Grades 1-12 as well as Adults with Disabilities) as well as cabin leaders and volunteers.  "We could definitely use some older guys to join our staff; 18 and older, we'd love a few more!"

"We do week-long camps most of the month from Sunday to Friday, and then after the long weekend in August it will be a shorter week, Monday to Friday," explains Peters.  "They're all overnight camps.  We have a campout usually in the middle of the week, where we head out onto the lake and find some campsites and that's a lot of fun!"

Youth camp takes place at the end of summer, August 20-25th.  "And that's a blast!" adds Peters, "and then we are done for the summer. Then our leadership team does a little bit of a debrief at the end of summer and then everyone gets a break before they have to go back to school!"

Upgrades include a new canoe rack and more sand on the beach.  "Other than that, the facilities are looking pretty good!"
