Ryan Johansen and Brandon Wheat Kings forward Brayden Schenn scored powerplay goals early in the third period and Olivier Roy stopped 24 shots as Canada opened the 2011 World Junior Hockey Championship with a 6-3 victory over Russia on Sunday in Buffalo. Marcus Foligno also scored a powerplay for the Canadians who put the game away with three third period goals. Ryan Ellis, Erik Gudbranson and Curtis Hamilton also scored for Canada. Oakbank's Quinton Howden picked up an assist. Canada's next game is Tuesday against the Czech Republic.
