Coach Cathy Gauthier & Skip Cathy Overton-Clapham

What have you done for me lately? Four Canadian championships and one World title in six years looks good on your resume. Then you find out your team-mates are going in a different direction and your services are no longer needed. Now you have to decide, do you want to go back to skipping and throwing the last two rocks, or even curl at all. Instead of that guaranteed berth at the 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Charlottetown next month wearing the Team Canada jackets, now you’re trying to beat out 15 other teams in Altona and win the Provincial championship that enables you to represent Manitoba in Prince Edward Island. Welcome to Cathy Overton-Clapham’s curling season - a season that began with a new team consisting of lead Raunora Westcott, second Leslie Wilson and third Breanne Meakin. Then Meakin wins the Manitoba Canola Growers Provincial Junior Championship earlier this month in Winnipeg. Instead of playing in Altona, Meakin will be competing in the Canadian Championship which begins Saturday in Calgary. Karen Fallis has been recruited by Overton-Clapham and will play third this week. Just another edition of “How the Curling World Turns”.
