Boundary Co-op is celebrating another successful year with Co-op week, where in-store incentives are offered and profits are shared amongst their members.

General Manager, Ryan Polnik, says the equity cheques have been mailed out to their members early this week totaling $1.4 million.

“It’s been a very interesting year, especially in 2020,” he shares. “Food sales definitely increased throughout the year.  Our petroleum was a little bit lower, but that was just because less people were travelling and the pricing.”

49 cent coffee this week Thursday at their Gas Bars, and a Drive-Thru BBQ this Friday at some of their locations with coffee and cookies at other locations; these are just some of the special incentives for Boundary Co-op to celebrate Co-op Week with their community and their staff.

“We’re fortunate we have a great group of people working with us and staying with us and we definitely appreciate all the hard work they do,” he shares.

Polnik shares there are some positive changes to this year’s equity cheques.

“One of the differences you’ll see on your equity cheque is there was an increase in food,” he says. “So, food went to 4% in 2020, and that’s an increase over the 2019 year, and that’s just because the food stores were a lot busier in 2020.”

“We just wanted to reward our members for their strong support,” he adds.
