Cathy Overton-Clapham will return to the National Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Overton-Clapham, who was let go by 2010 Canadian Ladies Curling champion Jennifer Jones of Winnipeg this past summer and replaced by Kaitlyn Lawes, booked her ticket to Prince Edward Island after winning the 2011 Provincial Scotties Tournament of Hearts Sunday in Altona.

Cathy Overton-Clapham talked about her upcoming 12th appearance at the National Scotties

Overton-Clapham used a steal of two points in the seventh end to take control of the final and beat Chelsea Carey of Morden 7-4. It was the only loss of the week for Carey, Kristy Jenion, Kristen Foster and Lindsay Titheridge who went 7-0 in the round robin and then beat Overton-Clapham 7-6 in the 1-1 page playoff game. It was a busy Sunday for Overton-Clapham, third Karen Fallis, second Leslie Wilson and lead Raunora Westcott. After their loss to Carey in the 1-1 game, they beat Karen Rosser of Springfield 7-3 in the semifinal.

Chelsea Carey had this reaction to her team falling just short in their quest to win the Provincial Scotties

It will be the second straight trip to the Nationals for lead Raunora Westcott and second Leslie Wilson. They were with Jill Thurston in Sault Ste. Marie last year. The 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts will take place from February 19th-27th in Charlottetown. The 2012 Provincial Scotties Tournament of Hearts will be held in Portage la Prairie.
