It's been close to 4 years since a Canadian Citizenship Ceremony has taken place in person in Brandon - often held at the Provincial Exhibition's iconic Dome Building.
Today the Provincial Ex is hosting this very significant ceremony with the Manitoba AG EX.
AG EX co-chair, Dallas Johnston, says they're excited to share Manitoba agriculture with new Canadian citizens.
"Provincial Ex tries to be a leader in the community," shares Johnston. "The plan is that we're going to try and see if we can tour the new citizens through the barns after and give them a good taste of what goes on in western Manitoba.
The Provincial Ex has hosted the citizenship ceremony in the past, but most often at the Summer Fair that takes place in June.
"They approached us if they could use the Dome building again, and we said how about we do this during AG EX, and the folks can come over and have a look at what goes on in the cattle business and they really liked the idea!"
The ceremony is scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 26th at the Dome Building at 12:00 noon.
