After close to 20 years in provincial politics Spruce Woods MLA Cliff Cullen has announced he will not be running in the next general election.

The Conservative MLA says it’s time to move on and spend more time with family. “It has been an honour of my lifetime to serve the people of Southwestern Manitoba for both the Spruce Woods constituency and the former constituency of Turtle Mountain. During that time, I worked hard to make Manitoba a better place to live.”

Cliff Cullen served in five ministerial roles and is presently Manitoba’s Deputy Premier.

“I didn’t take this decision lightly, but I turned 60 this year, my wife is retired from teaching, and we recently welcomed two beautiful grandchildren into this world. After nearly two decades in politics as an MLA and Minister it’s time for me to be Cliff.”

Cliff Cullen is proud of what the government has accomplished over the past six and a half years, but he says there's more work to be done. He plans to work hard to get the Conservative party re-elected in the election set the fall of 2023.
