Samaritan House Ministries continues to bring awareness to the hurt and the homeless through their fundraising efforts, such as hosting the annual event, 'The Coldest Night of the Year' (CNOY) taking place in downtown Brandon, February 25th.

"We do a 2 km walk and a 5 km walk, and we raise funds through CNOY, and they then cut Samaritan House Ministries a cheque for our organization," shares Executive Director, Barbara McNish. "Right now, we're looking at raising $20,000 for our Food Bank."

Funds raised will go towards purchasing food, notes McNish.  "As you know the year has been really hard and we are close to 3,000 hampers a month.  We have gone to a monthly hamper plus a weekly hamper because people are needing that support."

Participants can register as a team, individually, or to simply donate to 'The Coldest Night of the Year' on behalf of the Brandon fundraiser.  Even though this is a national initiative, all funds raised in the Westman area stay with Samaritan House in Brandon.

Coldest Night of the Year takes place Saturday, February 25th from 4-8 pm.
