It's Halloween and we would like to pass along some safety tips to let you have the best possible night. We spoke with RCMP Corporal Gary Bardal and he says of course, the main focus of Halloween is that kids have fun, all the while being aware and alert of the dangers.

Here are some rules of thumb that RCMP Corporal Gary Bardal would like to pass on:
- When young children go out, be sure they are supervised by a trusted Adult
- Try to stay in groups, don't have children out on their own
- Be careful when crossing the street, be mindful of the traffic
- If possible wear reflective clothing in addition to your costume
- When visiting houses, never enter a home and remain outside. Same goes for vehicles.
- And probably the toughest one... Refrain from eating all the treats until they have been checked over thoroughly

When parents look through their children's candy, any candy that looks like the packaging has been tampered with or even if you have any suspicions, discard it immediately.

Bardal tels us they will be out to help make the evening fun for all.
