Jesse Bernard had a goal and three assists and Brian Archibald stopped 21 shots as the Southwest Cougars completed a perfect four-game homestand with a 6-1 victory over the Pembina Valley Hawks in Souris. Ben Williams, Aubrey Chapman, Cameron Rowat, Hudson Morrison and Tanner Butler also scored for the Cougars who have won four straight games and hold down first place in the Manitoba "AAA" Midget Hockey League's West Division. Southwest is 10-4-0-1 and lead the Brandon Wheat Kings and Central Plains Capitals by three points. The Cougars scored three times in the second and third periods and were 2-for-9 on the powerplay. Southwest will play a pair of road games against the Kenora Thistles this Saturday and Sunday.
