The Southwest Cougars winning streak has reached five games. Jesse Bernard had two goals and an assist as Southwest downed the Kenora Thistles 5-3. Cameron Rowat, Jordan Greig and Jagger Thomas also scored for the Cougars who trailed 2-1 after the second period. Gage Murray, who faced only one shot in the third period, stopped 15 of 18 shots. The two teams will meet again this afternoon in Kenora. Southwest owns first place in the Manitoba "AAA" Midget Hockey League with a 11-4-0-1 record. The Cougars are three points ahead of the second place Brandon Wheat Kings.
