One new case of COVID-19 is being reported in Manitoba today, bringing the provincial total lab-confirmed positive and probable positive cases to 316.

Public health officials say this latest case is a man in his 40s from the Southern Health – Santé Sud health region, and note the case appears to be travel related.

Nearly 400 tests were performed in Manitoba on Wednesday, however the data is still being reviewed and confirmed. Updated testing data will be available Friday.

Currently, no Manitoban is hospitalized due to the novel coronavirus while public health officials continue to monitor 15 active cases. So far, 294 people in the province have recovered from COVID-19. The number of related death in Manitoba remains at 7.

Meantime, with Canada Day coming up next week, Manitobans are reminded to continue to practise social distancing and follow public health guidelines for gatherings whether at home, the cottage or camping.

Public health officials urge people to stay home if you feel sick, practise good hand hygiene and cover your cough.

If you are travelling, officials say to remember to be “COVID Careful’ and reduce stops.
