Over 1400 Canadian Wheat Board director election voter packages were sent to the wrong farmers according to the CWB election coordinator.

"We discovered that we had a technical error. The information we got from the Wheat Board was correct. Then we take it, and we have to prepare it for the mail house so they can use it. When we were going through the process there, unfortunately we some of the districts were assigned to the wrong numbers," says Ian Craven of Meyers Norris Penny. As a result, 1446 farmers received the wrong voter package.

"We were able to identify all of them and make the correction and put packages into the mail as soon as possible. We've been making some efforts to contact them directly," he says.

There were 28,481 voter packages sent out in the original mailing last week.

Producers have until November 19th to apply for a voter package.

Ballots must be post-marked December 2nd to be eligible.
