Crushing metal was a great sound Sunday at the Boissevain Fair Grounds, during Darbie's Annual Demolition Derby. The fundraising motor sports event has been held every summer since 2007. The funds that normally go to families with unexpected burdens or to a volunteer organization are usually in the 5 to 10 thousand dollar range.

Approximately 30 vehicles took part in the 2011 edition of Darbie's Demo Derby and $750 went to the first place driver. There were also cash payouts for heats, consolations, mechanic and powderpuff heats.
