Manitoba RCMP respond to three separate fatal collisions on same day

On September 1, 2022, at approximately 2:50 pm, Dauphin RCMP responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Road 109 W, located one kilometre north of Highway 5.

A pickup truck was travelling northbound on Road 109 W when it lost control, entered the ditch and rolled.

The 69-year-old male driver, from the RM of Dauphin, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was ejected and pronounced deceased on scene.

Later that evening, at approximately 9:50 pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 1, located one kilometre east of the Assiniboine River bridge.

Officers believe a pickup truck was travelling eastbound on Highway 1 when it entered the ditch and rolled. The 32-year-old male driver, from Winnipeg, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was ejected and pronounced deceased on scene.

A short time later, at approximately 11:15 pm, officers from Steinbach RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 52 and Road 32 E (Bristol Road), located two kilometres west of Steinbach.

The investigation has determined that a southbound vehicle entered the intersection and was struck by a westbound vehicle.

The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 37-year-old female from Mitchell, was pronounced deceased on scene. A passenger in the westbound vehicle was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
