A number of Westman communities will be hosting farmer’s market during the summer of 2023.

In Baldur the annual market will start this Friday June 16th. The market is promoted by the RM of Argyle. Recreation director Colleeen Vanwynsberghe says their market is usually quite popular with area residents.

“We’re set to start Friday and our market runs every Friday throughout the summer between 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. and will continue with the last market on September 8th.”

“Our farmer’s market is held in Veteran’s Park just off of Highway #23 on Elizabeth Street. As of right now we don’t have a lot of vendors but things usually pick up throughout the summer. We’ve go two fantastic gardeners in our community and they have everything from strawberries to zucchini to asparagus to corn on the cob and preserves along with canned items and even some baking,” said Vanwynsberghe.

The municipality organizes the market and then extends an invitation for the vendors to attend.

“It’s quite popular and if you don’t get there right away you might be out of luck that’s for sure.”
