The federal government is investing several hundred thousand dollars in three development projects, two of which could benefit Manitoba farmers.

Vic Toews, MP for Provencher, yesterday announced up to $266 thousand for three initiatives.

One project receiving support is the "Manitoba Farm to Cafeteria Project" which will see a network established with the aim of connecting local food producers with institutions across the province.

Central Plains Inc. will be receiving funding for a "Cluster Asset Mapping Pilot Project" which will identify regional assets and competitive advantages for new business opportunities in the Central Plains region.

The third project is designed to help small general stores in the Bayline Region become profitable businesses.
