The Turtle Mountain Flywheel Club has about 90 members and they are a group that works to restore and showcase old equipment.

President Rick Green is happy to see so many active members and he says they have lots lined up for the summer of 2023. “We're taking part in Killarney's town wide yard sale June 3rd and we're also in the middle of getting ready for our annual Prairie Pioneer Days tractor show set for July 8th and 9th this year.”

“Things look good for this year, and I think we’ll be back to normal after a couple years off. We took the opportunity over the past few years when we couldn’t hold shows to work on some projects in the museum by adding some storage space.”

The club added a new building with another 100 feet of storage space which Green said was badly needed. The Turtle Mountain Flywheel Club has been around for a number of years and members like to maintain old farm equipment to show people how farming used to be in the area 100 years ago.

“Farming has changed a lot over the past 100 years that’s for sure,” said Rick Green.

The club continues to get donations and Rick Green says they’re getting more items donated for restoration work. “For the past seven years now we’ve doing one or two projects every winter in our workshop. We take something in that needs restoration and we go completely over it. We like to protect that in our buildings and display it nicely, so we all need more space that’s for sure.”

The group is hiring a summer employee and plans are to have the museum opened up by early July.

“We like to have the museum open for July and August but anytime someone is passing by feel free to stop in and have a visit.
