The community of Wawanesa has come together once again to host the Children's Fair, coming up Saturday, August 19th.

Organizing committee Chair, Beth Smale, says they've got a great group of volunteers to facilitate a long list of fun activities for kids of all ages, from bouncy castles to old-fashioned games, to 'touch a truck' and more!

The Children's Fair ran on 2018 and 2019, but the pandemic hit he pause button.  Members of the local Lions Club wished to revive the fair once again. Smale recognized the need for money from other sources than the Lion's Club, and so they went to their own local businesses and organizations.  The results were amazing, raising approximately $5,000 for their event.

"Everybody has been so supportive that we have been able to have the event free for everyone to attend," shares Smale.  "The only money that kids will need is for the canteen, and the prices there are very reasonable," she adds.

"Come to see the reptiles and the trucks, play games, run races, bounce on castles and ride on wagons – among other events like sumo wrestling and face painting," says Smale.  "Everyone is welcome!"

The Wawanesa Children’s Fair will be held on Saturday, August 19 at the Wawanesa Recreation Grounds from 11 am to 3 pm.
