The Winnipeg Goldeyes will open the 2011 American Baseball Association season at home on May 12th against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Winnipeg will play 11 home games against Fargo-Moorhead and the Sioux Falls Fighting Pheasants while the St. Paul Saints will face the Goldeyes in Winnipeg 10 times. The five Central Division teams, which include the Kansas City T-Bones, Gary SouthShore RailCats, the Lincoln Saltdogs, Sioux City Explorers and Wichita Wingnuts, will visit Manitoba at least once. The Goldeyes will not play the five teams in the South Division during the regular season schedule. Winnipeg's longest homestand is 10 games from August 8th-17th when they meet Sioux Falls, Wichita and St. Paul.

CKMW Sports Director Matt Friesen asked Goldeyes general manager Andrew Collier to comment on the 2011 schedule.

 

 

Winnipeg will play a pair of pre-season games against St. Paul on May 9th & 10th.  The Goldeyes, RedHawks, RailCats and T-Bones left the Northern Baseball League this past October and were accepted by the American Association.
