The Winnipeg Goldeyes, Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, Kansas City T-Bones and Gary SouthShore RailCats have left the Northern Baseball League and will play in the American Baseball Association in 2011. The four teams were admitted at the American Association's annual meetings in Grand Prairie, Texas. The Goldeyes will play in the North Division with Fargo-Moorhead, St. Paul and Sioux Falls. Gary, Kansas City, Lincoln, Sioux City and Wichita will comprise the Central Division and El Paso, Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, Pensacola and Shreveport-Bossier will make up the South Division. The Goldeyes joined the Northern League in 1994 and won their only title in their first season.
