Will Goodon has spent eight years as an elected representative with the Manitoba Metis Federation and he wants to spend another four years representing the Metis people in Southwestern Manitoba.

After serving for two terms as an elected regional executive of the Southwest Region of the National Government of the Red River Metis, Minister Will Goodon has declared his intention to stand for re-election to continue to serve Metis Citizens in the Southwest Region.

“It has been an incredible honour to serve the citizens, families and communities within the Southwest Region for the past eight years,” Minister Goodon stated. “I have been so fortunate to be a part of something bigger than all of us, and to see the progress we have made since I began working for the Metis Nation back in 1996. I do not take this duty lightly, in fact, I wear my heart on my sleeve while being ready to continue to stand up for the integrity of our nation.”

Minister Goodon has taken on several roles in his many years of service to Metis citizens. Among his most noticeable achievements has been in his role as Minister of Housing & Property Management in the MMF government. In the Southwest Region alone, Will has delivered on bringing housing solutions to life for people and families.

“A lot of changes have taken place over the past 25 years and I’m glad I’ve been part of those changes that are helping people move forward. However there are other issues that are important such as who are we as a Metis people and as a nation. We need people to stand up for that and I take great pride in standing u[p for that cause.”

Will Goodon feels he has a good track record and looks forward to meeting up with people leading up to the election.

June 14 is election day.
