Habitat for Humanity Brandon will be holding a homeowner's information session next week for those who are interested in their home ownership program.
"Our information session is where families can come to pick up an application and to talk to us and ask questions about our program," shares Community Engagement Manager, Bonnie Mills, "and we do that just so to make sure that everybody is getting the same consistent information. We want to make sure they know how our program runs, what the qualifications are, what they can expect, and then answer any questions that people may have."
The minimum family income must be between $32,000 and $84,600, and the families must be willing to live where the Habitat for Humanity Brandon projects are located on Franklin Street. To qualify for consideration the applicant must be employed at the time of application with at least 2 years of recent work experience.
"And they must be willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity by completing the 500 hours of sweat equity with us," adds Mills.
Mills adds ideally, they would like to have 4 new families join their program; 2 families for 2024 and 2 more for 2025, "and when these families move in it just depends on where each of them is in their sweat-equity completion of hours!"
Please listen to more with Bonnie Mills as she explains more of the homeownership projects and the sweat equity partnership.
The Habitat for Humanity information session will be held on Wednesday, November 29th at the Brandon Neighborhood Renewal Corporation from 6:00-8:00 pm.
