July 20 is National Hot Dog Day and a retailer in southwestern Manitoba plans to use the special day to raise money for some local community groups and projects.

Boundary Co-op will be working with three groups to host hot dog lunches Wednesday afternoon.

Cheryl Rushing is marketing manager with Boundary Co-op and she looks forward to working with community groups and volunteers to help projects in those towns.

“It’s hot dog day and we look forward to hosting some BBQ lunches in those communities. We’ll be in Killarney, Boissevain and Deloraine.”

“We’ll have a hot dog lunch at the Killarney Foodstore, Boissevain Foodstore and Deloraine’s Home Centre. Stop by for a hot dog, chips and a drink for $5.” said Rushing.

Cheryl Rushing says giving back to the community is what Boundary Co-op is all about.

“We’ll be giving the funds to the swimming pool in Deloraine, Killarney’s food bank and Boissevain’s new rink fund.”

The fund raising hot dog lunches in each comm8nity will be served up between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm.
